Now THIS is a vehicle! I would ride around everywhere in this classic 365 Porsche Speedster! I absolutely love everything especially the leather hardware details! Spotted over at Cup of Jo via A Continuous Lean.

oaxacan lounge

It was love at first sight. I first met this lounge at The Thunderbird in Marfa, TX 3 years ago... so we go way back but the problem is that I have been searching for this beauty (comfortable too!) for years. Alas, pot-ted has them for sale and I would love to get my hands on 2 of these but the price point ($395) isn't very friendly as I heard while in Marfa that you can buy them dirt cheap in Oaxaca, Mexico. I see a trip down there in the future. I must have these! I am a pretty avid researcher and almost always find what I am looking for but I cannot for the life of me find out who designed this and/or if any other US suppliers carry them. Anyone out there that can help? Below are pics from our stay @ The Thunderbird.

neocon | wrap-up

These past 3 days have come and gone and so has NeoCon, The Worlds Trade Fair, at the Merchandise Mart. Roughly 50-60,000 designers/reps/architects flock to see what's new in the contract (commercial) world of design. I headed over there on Monday with my friend Mary Welch and met up with some fellow Houston reps and old co-workers from Houston. I hit the Guerilla Truck Show @ Fulton Market yesterday and got completely soaked due to the rain so I didn't take any pictures but be sure to hop over to Core 77 and check out Lisa Smith's (fellow Houstonian/industrial designer that I met and co-founder/runs the amazing Object Design League here in Chicago) wrap-up on the show along with photos. The truck show was amazing! It was my first time to go and it is filled with transformed U-Haul trucks into mini designer showrooms. Showrooms on wheels really. Pretty amazing stuff coming out of Chicago designers! NeoCon is always pretty overwhelming/exciting as it's jam packed with people and product. Traversing The Merchandise Mart is no easy task either, poor Mary Welch and her 4" heels! Anyways, here are some pics from the show.
