Last week in the midst of my studying for LEED, I took a break on a wonderful 75 degree sunny day and rode my bike down the lake front to the new museum opening. Here are a few shots I took when I visited the new contemporary arts extension of The Art Institute here in Chicago. It was designed by renowned Pritzker winning architect, Renzo Piano. It was an amazing space! This extension makes the Art Institute the second largest museum collection in the nation. He also designed The Menil Collection in Houston which is one of my favorite buildings and collections ever! Since I went to the museum during opening week, there were tons of people so I didn't stay long as I got a little frustrated with people walking in front of me every time I tried looking at a piece. There is a fabulous design/architecture exhibit along with a very cool Cy Twombly exhibit. I will go back and take it all in again. The interior architectural detailing is divine! Anyways, enjoy!
